Midland's Premier Public Art Gallery
The Gallery at Midland Shared Spaces is a collaboration between Midland Shared Spaces and the nonprofit art groups in Midland. This partnership came out of an identified need of permanent gallery space in Midland for local artists to display, and a need to make the building a more inviting place for tenants and guests of Midland Shared Spaces.
Thanks to support from the Arts Council of Midland, The Gallery opened with paintings, jewelry, and sculpture from local artists in March of 2015 with pieces from Artizen, ArtQuest, Midland Arts Association, and The Pallete Club. Art being displayed is rotated quarterly, and is available to the public to view and, in many cases, purchase. The Gallery at MSS is also proud to display art by other local nonprofit groups such as Sibley Camera Club, Bynum School, Rays of Hope, and MARC.
Each art group is responsible for their members’ pieces, and sales are handled directly with the individual artists. Midland Shared Spaces provides the hanging system, and hosts a quarterly wine and cheese reception and art opening. Because of this collaboration, community members have an opportunity to view art being created in Midland, and an opportunity to interact with the artists at the openings. The quarterly openings are underwritten by the generous support of business and individuals in the community.
The Galleryat Midland Shared Spaces is open to the public Monday through Thursday, from 8:00am - 6:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm.
